PROJECT R.O.I
Rocket Operated Inflatable
How do we put missiles to good use?
Project R.O.I is the culmination of a collaborative effort between the
HUJI Rocketry Club and the Industrial Design Department at Bezalel.
An intuitive, compact & cheap rocket-borne lifebuoy designed to save
Lives of immigrants drowning in the Mediterranean sea. The buoy auto inflates
In contact with water, and features quick-connect buckles enabling survivors
To gather up, increasing survivability and visibility for Search and Rescue operations.
Weighing just under 200 grams, and at a packed volume of 0.12 L,
the R.O.I units could be packed by the dozens inside a rescue
missile launched from a coast guard ship or a scouting aircraft.
An academic collaboration project with Roi Mizrahi and the HUJI Rocketry Club.
